Montalcino: Still Life with Three Groups of Flowers (Painting in progress)

Oil on canvas
Well the painting is getting kinda grundgy, so I guess it's time to
clean things up a bit. That means organising a background , in this case
a sky.
This particular background is both a:
1. Clear sky
and
2. A whole lot of the color blue.
and
2. A whole lot of the color blue.
When we look we see a blue sky. O.K., let's move on, but , in my work a
sky is usually seven or more colors / values. We call it , " an all day
painting job." It is difficult but boy, it makes an impact.

This is where the going gets a little tough. With the sky painted it's
time to start balancing the colors. So far the dominate colors
are blue ( vase and sky), and yellow ( cloth and ribbon). So to
complete a Primary 'Chord' of color red is needed and lots of it!

Right now the fourth color is green ( leaves). Black and white
don't count yet. With green added to yellow, red and blue we
have Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe's 'Primary Chord'.
Not so fast Wolfie, we have orange here.....
I have a feeling things will change yet again.
Until next week.....
